August Windows Update Breaks Linux Dual-Boots - OMG! Ubuntu

I haven't booted into the Windows partition on my Chuwi laptop for a while, but hearing that a recent Windows update leaves dual boot users unable to boot

OMG! Ubuntu

@corq I tried WSL a handful of times from early access to current WSL. It never worked out and ended with dropping the idea and running two separate systems. For the most simplistic bash and Linux capabilities it worked but the majority of those use cases could be completed on windows with built in tools like powershell or at the very worst a third party app that was a simple google search away.

I haven't completely given up hope that WSL will be a wonderful way to have Linux and Windows simultaneously but my internal magic eight ball is firmly set on "don't count on it".

@Kev_Prime @corq have you tried upgrading to WSL2
@4Ld0r1thm5 @corq I have used WSL2 like I said for some simple command line things it can be great but running like any large Linux specific software packages has given me trouble. I think the larger the thing you are trying to run the more pain you will be inflicted with.
@Kev_Prime @corq Yea, I had to reinstall the whole thing when I tried adding a DE to Ubuntu.
