I am hand raising a monarch caterpillar for the first time. No one told me that they grow by shedding their skin!!!

I went in to tend to Abby this morning and there were these ... things ... in its enclosure. Turns out they are the shed skin and FACE of the caterpillar.

Just a bit shook. But the good news is that Abby is continuing to grow.
