@EverMama8_ How does this work? Shouldn't Android or iOS just disable the microphone for apps and the browser? I can imagine exploits or state actors still having access, but basically this should be off by default
@luana@stonehead@EverMama8_ no third party app on Android and iOS can just hold your microphone hostage like that, they just aren't allowed to use the microphone in background. Both of them tell you when the microphone is active reliably. Either CMG or the alleged partners are lying or hiding information about the use and access to microphones
@massStrapOn@luana@EverMama8_ exactly. Yesterday I went through all the settings on my Android 14 phone, and that's how I'm used to it. Android even removes permissions (in Dutch, permissions are translated as 'machtigingen') automatically when an app hasn't been used after some time
@stonehead I mean maybe it's enough of it is integrated and works besides it and you don't notice that privacy bubble. Or it's anyway collected when microphone is used for sth else. @massStrapOn@luana@EverMama8_
