@philippelyp, I expect many people will need an explainarion. Here it is:
“liter” is a US spelling and “litre” is a British spelling. Other than spelling, they are the same thing.
A US quart is approximately 946ml, and thus smaller than a liter. An Imperial quart (used in the UK among other places) is approximately 1137ml, which is larger than a liter.
A context in which one writes “liter” in English is likely to be one in which “quart” will be a US quart, and a context in which one writes “litre” in English is one in which “quart” probably refers to an Imperial quart.
