The props designer decided to have one actor hand another a coin instead of a bill. When the play takes place, paper money was printed on only one side, and she figured the audience would think the props designer messed up. I love these detailed theater discussions.

@wallacewords I once did a run of Athol Fugard's "My Children My Africa". One scene involved a letter. The audience could see the envelope at a distance. But the props folks made sure that it bore proper South African addresses *and* a cancelled South African postage stamp. I was impressed.
