@mxfraud i really enjoyed drawn to life, where you have to draw the stuff you’ll use in the game, such has cloud platform and others.

From what i can recall (only played it once when i was younger) it was really refreshing and a smart way to use the tocuh screen

@Noaseto I didnt hear of it until now, but thats sounds like a really cool concept of anything.

On the list it goes!
Thanks you

@mxfraud hmmm, i liked Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales if you're into final fantasy and ok with something cute and more aimed at children

Soul Bubbles is also a great original game that is not that well known

@Claire I spend a lot of time in the chocobo race and stable in Final Fantasy 7, so I'll be interested in chocobo tales.

And I didnt hear about Soul Bubbles until now, it looks interesting and goes on the list!

Thank you

@mxfraud I have no idea if they're hidden gems or well-known gems :

  • 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Door is a point & click in a survival setting with interesting plot twists
  • The world ends with you is an action RPG with moody teens and catchy songs

Thanks to you, i realised i have like... 15 DS games, and a big part of them are Professeur Layton 😅

@mxfraud I really liked Fantasy Life, but I'm not sure how well-known it is.
@mxfraud
- Trauma Center: Under the Knife
- the Etrian Odyssey games
- Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
@mxfraud oh! And if you like old-school Wizardry-style RPGs, The Dark Spire is fantastic (great soundtrack too)

@kzurawel the first toot games where ob my radar, but the dark spire wasnt and it is looking really really good.

Thank you so much!

@mxfraud i spent soooooooo many hours into a game about two people being on an island and needing to survive, i don't remember name though, think it started with "lost in" and something
@SRAZKVT @mxfraud "Lost in Blue" (there three episodes).
@VioB @mxfraud yea probably that
@SRAZKVT @mxfraud (I have absolutly no doubt (I own them))
@VioB @mxfraud i haven't touched my ds in a good year and the game in a good 5 years so yea
@mxfraud I really recommend “Suikoden Tierkreis”. It’s a bit grindy, but it’s a really good RPG.
If you are interested by games by are not natives to the system, the best version of “Chrono Trigger” is on the DS :).

@Sylvhem Suikoden Tierkreis is the first game I'm going to play.
It is actually half the reason I'm going back to the DS Lite now (the other half is that I just unearthed it).

I learned english with the PS1 suikoden, so big sentimetal attachment to the suikoden world (I cannot remeber much about the lore tho).

I absolutey am willing to run anything that run on the DS lite, so I'll add Chrono Trigger to the list.

Thanks you!

@mxfraud You’re welcome! Those were my two favorite games on the DS at the time, so I hope you’ll have fun!
@mxfraud Osu Tatakae Ouendan is one of the best rhythm games out there, and perfectly designed for the DS. (It was Japan only, but DS carts aren't region locked and all the menus are pretty much self explanatory)

@rob_haines rhythm games are cool!
It goes straight on the list !

Thank you :)

@mxfraud I know you said no Ace Attorney, but Ghost Trick! I find it much more accessible than Ace Attorney and let's be honest, there's just more gameplay and (slightly) less talky talky in the first place. 😅

@mforester more accessible is definitelly a plus. So is less talk (I have limited concentration at times)

Thank you!

@mxfraud Elite Beat Agents 😎

Edit : just saw Ouendan already recommended, EBA is part of the same series, but with musics well-known worldwide

@mxfraud Why specifically "Lite" ? I don't think there is any difference with the Tank or the XL versions.

My personnal list would be, in decreasing preference order:
_ Ketsui Death Label;
_ Ghost Trick;
_ Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow;
_ Castlevania Order of Ecclesia;
_ Metal Slug 7;
_ Touch Detective 2 (and the 1);
_ Konami Classics Series Arcade Hits;
_ Resident Evil Deadly Silence;
_ Last Window (in the same way you should play Hotel Dusk before, even it 's not as good);
_ Point Blank (but there is a downside : it badly damages the screen);
_ Might and Magic Clash of Heroes;
_ Aliens Infestation;
_ Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey (I only played the 3DS version but it seems to be pretty much the same game);
_ Broken Sword;
_ Knights in Nightame (it's VERY difficult);
_ Bomberman 2;
_ Meteos;
_ Metroid Prime Pinball;
_ Orcs and Elves;
_ Flower, Sun, and Rain.

I'm not as fond of Chrono Trigger and Disgaea, but to be honest they are pretty decent games.

Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days,
Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, Mega Man Zero Collection and The World Ends with You are ok or mildly good games, mostly with big issues.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2 was nearly an excellent game, but its gamedesigners made REALLY poor gameplay choices which destroy all its merit.

Also, the DS is compatible wjth GBA games, maybe you're also interested in a list of those ?

@mxfraud 🤔 I think most of the better stuff has already been mentioned, but how about

Elite Beat Agents or Polarium?

@lolrengaymer on the list they go!
Thank you :)

@mxfraud I know it's a big name but I don't think the series has truly been considered top-tier since its 90s heyday, so if you haven't checked out the Sonic Rush games or the DS version of Colors, they're worth a look. The Brain Age games' purported health benefits are dubious, but they're fun.

More actually obscure: The Touchmaster minigame collection is more fun than it has any right to be. (Alas, owned by AT&T, but you'd be getting it secondhand these days anyway so I'll give it a pass.)

@linebyline I quite like sonic games (I was more of sega person than a nintendo person back in the day).

So I'll those to the list, thank you very much!
