My dear friend Adam Savage, starting about 3:50 in this video, gives a beautiful description of the history of the value he’s found as a creative person in being a denizen of the Bay Area, especially San Francisco, since his first experience here in the late 80s.

@Drwave i see that. i have misty eyed visions of what SF has been for artists and small startups since forever, but I always worry how long the good sides of the culture here can stand wave after wave of thinly veiled bullshit like we see now. Adam Savage represents a great example of the good parts of here.
