Oh, huh. If you have a UTexas.edu address, it looks like they backtracked on their reduction to 1GB of storage and have gone back up to 5GB of storage.

I remember having to delete so much crap out of my email after nearly 20 years to get it down to 1GB after several warnings and reminders... and did they tell us they went back up to 5GB? No, of course not. 🙄

LOL, thanks for that very important announcement, UT ICT.
@jezebelkat Yeah, that's very weird that they wouldn't let you know about that. That's pretty damn important to a lot of people, so you'd think they'd let you know what the deal was there.

@Jrodbad

Since alumni keep the addresses and it is often an excellent go to for professional reasons to avoid giving out a gmail or yahoo or hotmail or whatever account, many people were annoyed by the 1GB limit. But if people complaining was the reason they rolled it back, I can't imagine why they didn't share that. Unless sneaky sneaky they didn't want people to know so it would take time for people to use up storage again.

@jezebelkat That makes sense. Still very weird that they didn't manage to let everyone know, but I guess they didn't feel it was worth it and they'd just let everyone find out on their own.
