things I’d be delighted if Santa Cruz could teach SF how to do:

1. plant trees in the parking lane
2. if signals don’t always allow all directions of travel, then detect bikes

one time on a @SafeStreetRebel slow ride, 50 of us were waiting in the left lane to turn left from northbound Channel onto 4th St., and cycle after cycle we never got the green arrow.

NB: both streets are designated bike routes!!

we eventually just went and finished the ride, but this could be a nice malicious compliance tactic to snarl traffic and protest bike-ignoring signals on bike routes!

@scott @SafeStreetRebel I know of one more intersection where bikes don't get a green left turn arrow unless there is a car waiting to turn: Industrial and Bayshore. Specifically, turning from westbound Industrial to southbound Bayshore.

At least that is how it was the last time I tried to make that turn, a few years ago.
