That's it. My system of calendar-based heating thermostat control has been tested for the last time. It's going on for a couple of hours, August or no August.
Bloody 12Β° C it is. 12! Not having that. There are no bearskins to hand - and I'm not going out to kill one this morning just to warm up. And it's too wet to collect the firewood in the forest. No, central heating on is the way forward.
@brumph I never understood this turning the central heating on/off seasonally thaang. Ours is always nominally 'on' because ... errr, well... we've got a thermostat. Doesn't everyone else?
@tallpaul We haven't. I have a timer for two pre-set programs to run, switch on and off times for the day. Either it's on and running the programs, or turned off and not. I can override it and turn it on and off manually. Probably we can get a more modern thermostat one fitted, but it never seems to be important enough to do it.
