A 🧵 on mental health #fellas

The unseen battle: Why mental health management is crucial for #OSINT #investigators & #NAFO Shitposters.

On the cyber front, where information warfare is constant, and stress is high, for many the mental toll is real and pronounced.

OSINT isn't just about data, it's about exploring human stories and validating extreme situations.

Often, we'll uncover trauma, conflict and crime. This exposure can lead to secondary traumatic stress, anxiety and/or burnout.

It's not just a job; it's emotionally taxing and you see some shit.

Stress management strategies for OSINT professionals:

Set boundaries: Limit exposure to distressing content.

Debrief: Talk about what you've seen with trusted colleagues or professionals.

Self-care: Engage in activities that promote mental well-being. #SelfCareForOSINT

Social Network: Have a support network that isn't linked to your work. Being able to decompress with those who aren't on the scene can be great stress relief.

However, engaging with forums like the OSINT subreddit or attending workshops can also provide both resources and camaraderie where needed.

Remember, you're not alone in this digital battlefield. Don't have anyone to talk to? Send an @ and we'll hook you up. #OSINTCommunity
