I'm making a podcast series looking at why specific activities, ideologies and concepts become deeply important to people
I'm a cishet white guy from the UK, mostly into making A/V content, watching movies and playing games. This isn't what I specifically need help with.
The majority of the people I've become close to online and in life are much more in those categories than out of them
2/4. Request
I frankly have way too many people to choose from to talk about why they love a particular movie or videogame, and not enough people that I know to ask about... anything else!
So if you have an activity, ideology or concept that is DEEPLY important to you personally, and you'd be interested in talking about what you love about it, and discussing what I can find in academia and psychology that might explain WHY you love it, please say hi!

Anything at all will be considered, the more specific the better;
Do you have a cuddly toy from childhood that you still keep with you at all times? Awesome
Do you have an irrational love of cooking? Fantastic
Can you not stop building model boats and putting them in bottles, no matter how hard you try? Outstanding
The only real condition is that it is something that you DEEPLY love, and that you're happy to talk openly about it and the wider context of your life around it

Hi! If you're here it hopefully means you clicked on the link in my Threads... uh... thread, and you might be interested in being the subject for an episode of "Why Do I Love This?". Thanks for coming this far! The show is looking at why particular concepts, activities and ideologies become foundational to individual people. It is built around two interview/discussion sessions with the guest/subject. The first is fact finding; discussing the 'thing' that they love, what is entails, when they started, who they do it with. Mostly subject lead. The second interview will take place after I've had time to see what information in academia and philosophy I can find that could possibly explain the why behind how it became important to you. I have finished producing the first half of the first episode, which I am doing about myself and why the character of Luke Skywalker is and always has been extremely important to me. I did this mainly so that I could figure out what the show is and how it will be structured without making an interview subject wait for 6 months while I figure all of that out. I'm linking that first half of episode 1 here so that you can: a) get an idea of how the show will sound b) decide off the back of that whether you'd like to go further If you do appear on the show you would absolutely have the opportunity to promote yourself or any other projects that you are a part of, and you would have full control over your biography in the show notes and any links that you would want to place there too.
