[Aug 2024] What are the current most active forums for specific video game discussions. - lemm.ee

Im currently playing Horizon Forbidden West, and one main story point was a serious let down compared to its prequel, Zero Dawn. Left reddit during the great lemmy migration, but the only (good) game discussions on the topic I found were all on reddit. Do I need to go back to reddit for game forum discussions? Is there any other active place that discusses specific games?

You can start the discussions on this community if you’d like. I believe it’s the most active one. If you’re looking for the amount of content Reddit has…Lemmy isn’t there yet. You starting these discussions may help more and more people to contribute and add in. Which then creates more content.

Warning, incoming rant.

Itss regarding the ::: spoiler spoiler now sentient subordinate functions, and more importantly, how Aloy treated them. :::

In Zero Dawn ::: spoiler spoiler Demitri, the one incharge of plant life, scattered metal flowers about in the first game, with bits of poetry his creator loved. He also had flowers growing around Elizabeth Sobeck’s body in the ending cutscene.

Then theres CYAN and her whole saga in Frozen Wilds. Aloy really seemed to get along with her. :::

And yet, in the first half of Forbidden Quest ::: spoiler spoiler Aloy has no qualms about killing the subfunctiond and restoring them to base code for the new Gaia.

Minerva was damn scared, hiding in the Base the whole time, all the while sending an encrypted signal saying ‘Here I am’.

Aether (weather control) didnt do anything wrong at all, just kept trying to do his duty, even as the errors kept mounting and the storms increasing. :::

Thats as far as I managed to get before shutting the game down. Will prob uninstall too. Even if the game has well established that Aloy is getting desperate to restore ::: spoiler spoiler GAIA ::: , this seems way out of character.

The first game story was terrible and so is the second. This is some trivial shit to quit over but to each their own.

This community, [email protected], and [email protected] are the most active for general discussion, although both the /c/games communities are heavier on news than discussion.

That game’s old enough for discussion on [email protected], which is semi-active and much more discussion-oriented.

There is a [email protected] community but unfortunately there just isn’t the interest to build an active community here (on Lemmy) for specific games at the moment. [email protected] seems to be a good place for it at the moment but feel free to cross-post.
