Every #flower has various meanings and the #hydrangea (according to an Italian site) is used to reveal the birth of a new love❤️.
Therefore I announce the birth of love for my wife.
Someone could argue because it’s over 17 years that I’m loving her but, looking at the age of the universe of 14 billion years, it can still be considered as new.
If you disagree with the above, I apologize… which is how the flower is used in Japan… 😄

@gerhardriedl
The number 17 is special for us, since our anniversary is on the 17th (August), so congratulations on reaching this one. Pointing out how you are relatively on time compared to the age of the universe made me realize that I could join in on topic and announce the birth of love for my wife, also. At 55 years, it’s barely a drop more than your 17. Doesn’t feel much longer, either.

In the words of Bill Parrish (Anthony Hopkins) in the movie Meet Joe Black
“Doesn’t it go by in a blink”

@gerhardriedl Very sweet 🥰 It’s been over 20 yrs for me and the BT and it still feels new as well.
@gerhardriedl I have a soft spot for hydrangeas, and this is a beautiful capture 👏
@gerhardriedl a lovely shot. Never heard that (apologies) about their use in Japan. Must dig deeper.
@wilpercy Maybe I’m wrong… I’ve read it on a italian site that writes about japanese art and culture. They write “In fact, it is said that an emperor made a gift of it to his beloved to apologize for neglecting her due to his many commitments.”. No mentions about which emperor… but the source could be unreliable…
@gerhardriedl intriguing. I shall have to ask around. One of my favourite flowers too.
