Might @25kV know what these are? Very recently installed on a section of a newish Helsinki tram line, 600 V DC.

This section passes close to a university campus with sensitive measurement equipment. There has been concerns that the tram traffic would cause disturbances for the equipment. Is this some equipment that reduces how wide electric and/or magnetic fields spread from the track?

@25kV Based on what little I have read in the press, and observed myself, earlier another solution was attempted: The overhead line was connected at each pole with thick cables down to a ground cable directly in the mid of the track (first pic). But these connecting cables were disconnected already some time ago (second pic) and now just hang loose.

@tml Olin toissa vuonna opaskeikalla muutaman päivän verran saksalaisille sähköinsseille VDV:n seminaarin yhteydessä, ja kiertokäynnillä Raide-Jokerin kohteissa kuulin, että Viikin kampuksella on kompensointipiirejä, joilla saadaan sähkömagneettinen häiriö sopivasti pienemmäksi, jottei mittauslaitteisto liiaksi häiriinny liikenteestä. Samasta syystä siellä on pätkä, jolla ajellaan hiljempaa kuin muuten olisi tarpeen.
Joku muu SRS:n jäsen varmaan osaa selittää tämänkin tarkemmin.
