Just got a random hateful comment. Checked out the user’s server and… yikes.

If you run a server, you’ll create a kinder, safer fediverse if you suspend noauthority.social.

@adamrg
NoAuthority is an infamously bigoted instance, and has been on a lot of blocklists, including ours, for a while.
We recently released our blocklist for public use, if you want to take a look...

Normally, I don't point non-staff towards this, but regular users can also use stuff like this if their instance isn't blocking enough, though I also suggest that you maybe look into a different instance: Mastodon.Social has notoriously weak moderation, to the point that other servers block them.
If you want to find another well-connected instance, perhaps take a look for one on your continent with a theme you want to post about, using the search tool on https://JoinMastodon.org
You can even move your account to keep your followers, import your existing blocks and follows, and link between the two accounts so people know where you went and why, or even undo that if you change your mind.

@Raccoon @adamrg Sorry I'm over a month late in seeing your very helpful reply. I actually self-host my own server as a fun project. I just have that old mastodon.social account as a backup. I didn't realize that I had posted from the wrong account there.
I try to keep my server blocklist up-to-date so I don't pick up and fetch junk from the couple of relays I'm on.
