#Perseverance has spent quite some time examining the intricacies of this "reddest rock". So have we 🤓.

Here is a combination of two images (SHERLOC_ACI and WATSON) to create a new image inheriting the greater detail of the one and the color of the other (have a look at the originals).

I think NASA played a little trick here. The third image appears to be a composition of the other two, not an original. I noticed that when I did my combo yesterday https://mastodon.social/@65dBnoise/112983671557871471, but I included it in the combo nonetheless. Try a 50% transparency of the 1st over the 2nd and you'll get the 3rd, exactly as it is.
