I'm not saying the new Grok A.I. has got some kind of crazed and violent political bias.

I'm saying if you type in 'Ghandhi fighting poverty' it will generate an image of him kicking a beggar. In the face.

@ProjectFearlessness Gandhi fighting Trump?
@Jawaka
Sadly, that's not how Grok would depict it. Maybe you should make your own AI. I would buy it!

@ProjectFearlessness I recently had to replace our TV as the previous one was irreparable. I rejected all the Android models because of Google which left only LG. LG make a big deal about AI throughout and I spent hours going through the settings disabling all the AI features.

I still have around nine seperate privacy policies to navigate before it’s let loose online.

I didn’t want AI. I didn’t want the skills of a lawyer. I just wanted a TV. Fuck knows what non-tech folk do.

@Jawaka
I know. I'm not techy either. I have only a vague idea of how it actually works. I'm more interested in what it does and how it affects our lives and the environment. It's not looking good at the moment.

@ProjectFearlessness If you knew what your TV does you’d never turn it on again.

Even my remote has a microphone inside for voice control. All your viewing habits, streaming, web sites, everything is collected and used for targeted advertising. Who signs up for more advertising? It’s all blocked here.

@Jawaka
I know it might sound irresponsible, but I try not to think too much about all the surveillance and data scraping harms that comes from my digital devices.
Switching everything off is OK, but that's putting the responsibility on the individual and not the companies doing this. What we really need to think about is a complete system change and worldwide regulation to stop this happening everywhere.
@ProjectFearlessness At least the EU are constantly adding data protections. Another reason to rejoin.
@Jawaka Absolutely. At the very least the U.K. should mirror E.U. laws on data protection. It's one of the first step on the long road back into the E.U.
@ProjectFearlessness I don’t see how they can avoid alignment in many fields. If you want to do business with someone it’s usually on their terms.
@Jawaka
You're right. Unless you're an ideological brexit nutjob, diverging from E.U. laws makes no commercial sense for the U.K. Let's hope we're over all of that.

@ProjectFearlessness My brother is half a generation older than me. He’s a car nut. He drives a Jag EV. He’s a massive fan of Lewis Hamilton. He is also a successful exporter of his own products.

Despite all that he’s a massive gammony brexiter. I don’t get it.
