Up and running. Decided to go with a Vert900 antenna as I have a bunch lying around and they've always served me well in the band.
While scanning the local mesh, I see that the first of the 25M sheep in this country has been added to the network.
After playing around for the good part of an afternoon, it appears that the Station G2 and the G2 Nano are an excellent disaster resilient and low power comm solution, so long as there is a Meshtastic community in one's region.
The G2 Nano's built-in patch antenna makes it a very compact solution, and for waterproofing could fit into a plastic lunchbox alongside powerbank and thrown into go bag or car glovebox. #meshtastic #radio
FWIW I found a spare 65W 15V Type C PD and so will run the Station G2 on this for now.
Will look at running direct off a small 12V SLA battery via the G2's 9-19V DC connector, fed by a panel on the shed roof.
