I forgot how big a pain in the ass it is to install NVIDIA drivers on openSUSE
@thelinuxcast ooof, feel that. Best experience I've had for installing Nvidia drivers manually was Fedora and Arch. I hope with the Nvidia open GPU kernel module becoming the default for 560, all of it will get easier.

@Rerum I'm not looking forward to the transition, tbh.

I doubt that it will be seemless.

@thelinuxcast at least with one friend, they transition the 555 from closed to open, and haven't noticed any downsides. Then again it's just one person.
@thelinuxcast I gave up on openSUSE because of that
@thelinuxcast do you still have to open yast and enable the Nvidia repo and all that ? Or is that outdated ? I mean last time I used opensuse with Nvidia was in OpenSUSE 13.2
@Tinkering_Gator you can do it that way yes. I used zypper
@thelinuxcast once you get used to it it’s not that bad lol
@thelinuxcast psst they do it automagically in Bazzite
