I always preferred this place's vision. But anecdotally all the chatter in those I read is about whether they go to Bluesky or Threads.

@t0nyyates Seems to be mostly threads right now unfortunately. So far there's been a hype cycle where one platform after another gets picked for the migration wave and then later it switches.

The good thing is that there's at least some interoperability from here both to Threads and to Bluesky although the Threads fediverse integration is still pretty limited and the Bluesky bridge is unofficial.

This just seems like the best place for larger organisations that might want to have their own domains and servers, as they do with email.

Threads is an obvious choice for those that already have Instagram accounts, mostly non-political.

That Threads and BlueSky can already be read here tells me that the open protocols are important, it just depends on where people base themselves.
