hello fedi! I’m back! I didn’t actually go anywhere, I’ve just been extremely busy and got all anxious and guilty about logging in after missing so much

it’s not feasible for me to look through my entire feed every single day, but I feel so bad posting when I’ve been missing everyone else’s content. I feel so bad for missing it anyway, I care about you all 🤧

so what’s up, has the server died like I’ve been fearing? what’s been happening

@gnocchi welcome back! there's no need to feel guilty!

the instance is still alive and kicking! lots of wonderful hualian posts, lots of me thinking about Dottore (yknow, as usual). plenty of stuff!

@dottore coffee!!

tysm, and I’m glad to hear that

@gnocchi Hi!!! I'm so glad to see you! 🥺 There's absolutely no need to feel guilty. I'm pretty sure I'm actually the weird one for reading every post from everyone I follow every day (minus stuff my filters catch, which to be fair is a lot).

When I see people complain about posting habits on here, it's "this user ONLY makes original posts and NEVER looks at others' posts OR responds to replies." And it's based on an extended period of time, not like "this week, they only made original posts." I think you're fine. ALSO I don't think I've ever seen a *fandom* Fedi user make a complaint like that. So you're extra fine.

The server is good! We got a way bigger character count, if you noticed. :D Some people have joined and some have gone inactive, like normal. I haven't noticed any big drama or big changes in how many active users there are.

@xieliansbignaturals @xieliansbignaturals xlbn!!

tysm, that makes me feel better 🤧

I’m glad to hear the server’s okay. omg I feel like I need to disappear in the mountains for another few months to emotionally process the new character count

@gnocchi

Yeah, haha, it's very different! I don't see TOO many posts that go beyond 500 characters, and not many that approach the full new limit, but it's nice to have the option.

@xieliansbignaturals @gnocchi And I wouldn't listen to anyone complaining about other people's posting habits, honestly. Bunch of busy bodies in opinion.
@griseldagimpel @gnocchi Yeah. The only real point they have is "if you do that, people will generally ignore you." (So, mostly a warning for influencer types.) I've also seen a few instances where using your account like that is against the rules (not Blorbo, though).
@xieliansbignaturals @griseldagimpel @gnocchi hopping in to agree with the above ^^ We all have lives outside of here, interact or post as you please and be respectful and everyone can live happily in harmony

@xieliansbignaturals @gnocchi

That makes sense.

Although. Are there really influencers on *Mastodon*?

@griseldagimpel @gnocchi Not for long enough for us to notice them! 😆 The only reason I know any of them have been here at all is that I’ve overheard people laughing about how they’ve seen influencers complaining on for-profit platforms (YouTube, etc.) that they tried Mastodon and no one paid attention to them. Like, wow, what a shocker.
@xieliansbignaturals @gnocchi I can't believe the platform filled with anarchists and communists didn't go for influencers! 😂

@gnocchi As I see it, people who care about you would rather you post freely, they don't want you to feel bad and they want to hear about you, and if someone bitches about not having enough attention from you well maybe they need to chill. We have mentions on here, if we *need* you to see something we can use it, so any post where you're not mentioned is fine living without you? So yeah, no need to feel guilty!

From my corner I'd say the danmei squad is doing great, the kpop squad is doing great, the "let's find all the craziest kinks for our blorbos" squad is still galaxy-braining, and we might have a small but solid team of "between us we know about every single fan-event on the internet" xD Lots of folks doing their things outside these groups too, server lively ^^b
