Mario Kart on anything older than the Wii is a completely different game isn't it. I really struggle with anything older than that version! #Nintendo #MarioKart

@andycarolan I've tried to play the older versions occasionally and yeah, it's just not the same.

The 3DS version is really good.

I have a hacked version on the Wii that has added several hundred new tracks.

@retrosponge Oh yes, Mario Kart on the 3DS is awesome.

Have you played the arcade versions?

The Wii hack sounds like fun!

@andycarolan I haven't played that.

The quality of the tracks in the hacked version vary dramatically. There's one based on the Vancouver level from later versions and it's absolutely terrible.

The Switch version is one of the few reasons I'd still like a Switch. (That, Smash Bros and Animal Crossing).

@retrosponge The arcade ones are fun. Worth tracking down!

Makes sense about the hacked tracks.

Animal crossing is a fun, chill game on the Switch… definitely my lockdown go to. I could never get on with Super Smash Bros. I have it on the Wii U, and I just end up button mashing lol… but that’s more my fault than that of the game/genre.

@andycarolan I'm kind of the same with that game, but I like all the stuff you can unlock and everything.
@retrosponge I finally packed my Wii U away a few weeks back. It was silly having it set up as we never played it.
@andycarolan Sadly When we got one back in Edmonton, the screen got broken after a few months and we never got around to repairing it so that Wii u had very limited use. 😞
@retrosponge That's a shame. They weren't a bad console in all fairness... they were great for playing Wii games on too.
@andycarolan I really liked it. Zombi was a clever use of the second screen.
@retrosponge I never actually played that lol. So much missed opportunity with that second screen as far as game support went

@andycarolan If I recall the mechanic was when you were like trying to unlock a door or something you could keep an eye on the second screen and it looked behind you.

There was also an indie game I really liked where someone piloted a ship on the main screen and then on the second screen there was all like the energy controls and stuff. That was a really good game.

@retrosponge Those sound like really good uses of the second screen!
