I was very frustrated yesterday by several instances of microaggressions piling up, plus plain outright transphobia, in some spaces that are separate from here. I want to add, today, that I really appreciate THIS space! 🥺 (I’m referring to fandom Fedi, especially my instance blorbo.social.)

There are many good things about being here, but the one I’m thinking about right now is how comfortable I feel with being open about my own experiences with gender (including things like discussing transandrophobia, which I wouldn’t even dare to do on Tumblr), and how comfortable I feel playing with gender in a fictional context (how cool is it that it didn’t even cross my mind to worry when I compared the god/ghost/mortal trinary in TGCF to gender earlier?)

A lot of the credit for this goes to the mods, for creating a space with good rules and proactive moderation. Thank you, mods. 🥺 But a lot of the credit also goes to my fellow regular users, who, regardless of their own personal experiences with gender, have really contributed to making this space welcoming to those of us who reject the boxes we’re told to live in. Even if your contribution is just refraining from actively saying transphobic things, it means a lot. Thank you, friends, for being wonderful.
