wanted to go to sleep

but systemd said

[ *** ] A stop job is running for Simple Desktop Display Manager (1min 25s / no limit)

@thememesniper I found uninstalling and reinstalling from git helps

@thememesniper

My highest scoring question on stack exchange involved me asking how to make systemd stop doing a stop job for Redis
@thememesniper I'm having the same issue every day for "codium.scope"
@thememesniper I get similiar messages when shutting down - fortunately with a 1:30 min limit. So shutdown is just delayed though the delay is annoying 🤯

@thememesniper LMAO.

What if I told you that it'll close itself within 90sec.

@kkarhan If it was Windows, you could have added a few 0s to that

@thememesniper

@gunchleoc @kkarhan @thememesniper If this was windows, it'd say "Updating... 10%"
@thememesniper THIS FUCKING THIS
@andromeda @thememesniper it only happens for me when i turn off the monitor before the system is shut down properly
@thememesniper there really should be aj option to force quit that service when it's been hanging the computer for more than, say, 30 seconds
@Reiddragon @thememesniper I feel like you should be able to change the "no limit" to whatever timeout you want, but I don't know how.
@SuperSluether @Reiddragon @thememesniper it is possible, I have done it.....but I forgot how
@SuperSluether @thememesniper you can change the systemd unit files to set a timeout, tho then you're stuck making sure any changes made to the unit files by package updates get merged into the unit files that actually get used (or that your timeout change gets merged back, depends on the pm)
@thememesniper then i would alt+prntscrn+b

@thememesniper for me mostly the case is
[ *** ] A stop job is running for User Services (1min 25s / 1min 49s)

idk why it takes a longer time...
