‘Not stranded in space’: how Nasa lost control of Boeing Starliner narrative

Technical issues and poor comms led many to believe two astronauts are lost in space, but a return date is imminent

The Guardian
@Lyle lots of double talk from a lot of different people in that article.
"Additionally, Stich said, Starliner was cleared to leave the space station at any time in the event of an emergency."
So Starliner is NOT cleared for use if it's NOT an emergency, so claims they're just staying to do more tests are wrong.
"Experts say there is nothing unexpected or unusual about an experimental spaceflight developing problems". Not this specific situation though eh? No quote, no context.
"And yes, something has gone wrong. But the statement that they can’t get back is most definitely incorrect."
They can't get back on the Starliner, and their stay is indefinite precisely because of Starliner malfunction.
"The first SpaceX launch of the Dragon capsule was delayed by many years too,"
Delaying a launch and deciding to do a launch *with crew* and having it go catastrophically wrong are pretty different things.
@kevingranade Yeah, I find the spin very funny because they are clearly bad at it and know that they are bad at it
