@protonprivacy It's a shame that once again Proton has treated Linux as an afterthought, with no support for Stealth. I'm a long time paying customer, still waiting for Linux parity with the other platforms on VPN and Drive. Very disappointing.

@owlyph With Wireguard for Linux about to come out of beta, we are also planning to bring Stealth to Linux as we work on additional feature parity requests.

@protonprivacy I'm glad to hear that, it's good news. However, it doesn't change the fact that Proton appears to always treat Linux as an afterthought, waiting for sometimes years before eventually rolling out features that make it work like the proprietary options (options that take advantage of their users), which Proton seems to favour in a practice of non-alignment with its own objectives. Parity should be designed and built-in from day one, not as an afterthought to catch up.

@owlyph @protonprivacy Even just the quality of the UI is extremely poor next to Windows and Android. I'd rather have the (MANY) missing features, of course, but in their absence, it'd be nice not to have what looks like a programmer's quick "let me get it done before they pull me off Linux" rush job.

Proton: I appreciate a ton of what you do, and I understand Linux is a much smaller user base. But there's a limit to how far you can let it lag behind.

@AM_PS4 @owlyph @protonprivacy, but a very good thing is that the code is open source. It is possible for someone not working at Proton to improve the graphical interface or make a new one.

Personally, I would much prefer to have a non-graphical interface (a command-line interface) in addition to the missing features. 🤓

@robianhood @owlyph @protonprivacy There is a CLI of sorts. It's very limited, but if you're not able to use their app for whatever reason, you can save out a profile for the server you want from the web site and launch a connection from a terminal by pointing at that profile. I poked around with it a bit when their RPM wouldn't install on SUSE Tumbleweed.

@AM_PS4 @owlyph @protonprivacy, exactly what I am doing currently (on Alpine Linux). However, I am going to try and compile their app myself at some point to get the full features of Proton VPN. Most of the code is Python.

@joffa @protonprivacy you can already export the wireguard profiles for your router from your Proton Account.
It would be nice if stealth support would come for routers, but this depends more on the router manufacturers than Proton itself.

Since a few weeks i have a GL.inet router as well but I haven't seen Stealth support yet.

As far as I remember, your VPN doesn't work in Russia.

Others who implemented something like modified Wireguard or Xray/VLESS/VMESS are working fine (for now).

Do you have plans to improve the situation?
