Let the sorting begin. Do you sort by color or element type?

I've come up with what I think is a fairly novel sorting method. I'll be doing some posts about it soon.
@MyBrickZ always by element type. This way it is much easier to find what you are looking for. How else would you find a specific element in a pile of red bricks?
@MyBrickZ Always element type - it's much easier to spot a specific colour from pieces of the same shape than different shape from the same colour.

@MyBrickZ

I do several sub-sorts going from very general attributes to very specific.

1st sort - colour
2nd sort - plates/bricks
3rd sort - modified
4th sort - size
5th sort - special (windows, doors, wheels, food, tools, weapons, etc.)

And additional sub-sorts as needed to have small quantities that need close inspection for a final sort.

Helps get through these Classic sets fast.

@MyBrickZ Related elements, element, then colour when I get lots of individual elements
