We had to put down one of our dogs today. She was nearly 16 years old and her body had quickly become riddled with an aggressive cancer.

She was an amazing dog, but what I remember most is that, when our son was in middle school, she could sense when his blood sugar was low and wake him up. We never trained her for that.

Tough day and I will miss her terribly, but it was the right thing to do for her.
