I’ll take any victory that stops it, but boy do we Dems need to call our reps about this!
(Congress members are required to log all phone calls and note what they’re about. They don’t have to do that for emails or online petitions.)
Bruce Mirken@samhainnight @matt @evacide I've repeatedly emailed my senators and rep (all Dems), to no apparent effect (my rep, Jill Tokuda, simply sends a boilerplate response saying she'll "consider my views" with no indication of how she actually leans). If it revives in the House at some point, I will need to phone her office.
@BruceMirken @matt @evacide Phone calls are the best! Also, they tie up the phone lines if enough people call which really gets Congress people’s attention!
Cali@matt @evacide @BruceMirken @samhainnight can someone ELI5 this to me.. on reading some of the text, KOSA and COPPA sounded like an extension of privacy laws aimed at protecting kids online? Was there something nefarious buried in there? Genuine question, I’m not in the USA so must be missing something.
