While the artistry (and speed) comes from years of experience (and cross-training in photo, animation, film, drawing), the great news is those years are fun and rewarding. Let me know if I can answer any specific questions!
@5tu how much drawing was involved? That’s really my Achilles heel. It’s just a talent I don’t possess and never will ;)
@eierund That’s OK! For me, drawing led to animation school which led to my first VFX job. But everyone’s path is different. You just need tools to visualize your ideas.
