http://www.houstonzoo.org Giraffe mom Tyra delivered a healthy female calf shortly after 5 p.m. on March 4, 2011 at the McGovern Giraffe Exhibit in the African Forest of the Houston Zoo. Keepers and veterinary staff remained close by in case any assistance was needed, and this videographer was close by as well to catch every detail of the birth. The calf has been named Asali, which means honey in Swahili.
