We’ve installed 4 pickleball courts in backyards in the past couple of years. One of them is the cover picture on a news article about how obnoxiously loud it gets in neighborhoods.
Fuck pickleball. Shits a cult.
It’s basically a cross between tennis and ping pong. The court is smaller, you play with a whiffle-ball type ball and hard paddle. There’s a spot right by the net called the “kitchen” where you can’t stand in while you volley.
It’s honestly just a fun game. It’s easier to pick up than tennis, and it’s more fun to play doubles. It’s also a little less physically taxing, it’s a really nice level of activity. Give it a shot sometime.
It’s being pushed by investors most likely.
Talked to a couple, year or two ago, who were really into it and they were like “even the so and so NBA star has invested in it” i was half listening as it all sounded like garbage, but I think the guy said it was LeBron? Not 100% sure. So definitely sounds like a marketing ploy to milk this garbage.
