Thanks for the game! Now, I started Fallout 3 not long ago, is there any commonality to the story between the Fallout games? Are they following each other? Are they alternatives of the same story? Is it something else?
FOLON is a total conversion, with some references to the other Fallouts, bacause it is set in the UK.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a total conversion in this context?
@TheHobbyist @Cobrachicken I have not heard that term in a long while, but I'm also old and have been out of the game for a while. A total conversion is technically a mod of a game but replaces all (or at least close to all) assets and game logic (to the extent it can be modded), effectively using the game as a game engine to make a new game.

Exactly, thank you for this explanation. It’s in one of these videos that they explain the new assets (2d/3d models, textures) scripts and pathfinding stuff they created https://fallout4london.com/world-of-fallout-london/

Sry on mobile else would link to the exact source. Very impressive feat.

To answer your original question about the timeline, this may help.

A detailled version is here (not spoiler free!).

You can probably play the games in any order, but beware the first two are rather classics today, within the technical limitations of their time.

There’s also the Tales of two Wastelands mod, which combines FO3 and New Vegas on the latter’s engine. I’ve installed that, but admittedly was too lazy for a complete playthrough.

Fallout: London mod for Fallout 4 has released today on GOG

Fallout: London, the hotly anticipated game-changing mod for Fallout 4 is now finally available via GOG, because it's simply too big for modding sites.

GamingOnLinux
  • Download and Install Fallout 4, from Steam or GOG
  • Downgrade the game using their own Downgrader tool www.nexusmods.com/fallout4london/mods/1 Source and latest binaries here : github.com/Fallout-London/FOLON-FO4Downgrader A bit in panic at the moment, you may need to compile it yourself to fix some openssl version issues or to make it launch on Wayland. Consult the Issues tab on GitHub for common fixes.
  • Download and Install Fallout London. And select the correct game folder as asked.
  • ???
  • Profit ! (I’m installing it too at that moment on a Nobara(Fedora) machine. Will tell you if i had to do more than said.)
