Has Netanyahu finally lost America?
Has Netanyahu finally lost America?
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it “by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States.”
Jerry Nadler called it the same and went further because he rightfully said, " he wishes the war the continue because if it does not, he will lose power and be voted out. He cares nothing for those hostages and cares only about staying in power."
He went on to call it a shameful display and call it a worthless speech.
Are we actually asking if an utterly vile, demonstrably corrupt, entirely self-serving psychopath who’s overseeing a genocide, a violent incremental land grab and repeated attempts to provoke wars with four different neighbors has “finally lost America?”
Every time I think this timeline couldn’t possibly be more fucked up, it shocks me yet again.
Exactly.
He’s one of the most loathsome pieces of shit to have ever sleazed his way into office anywhere - a foul, noxious, utterly repugnant psychopath who bears personal responsibility for tens of thousands of murders and for the undue suffering of millions. And he gets fucking standing ovations from people who have the gall to consider themselves worthy representatives of the American people.
It’s grotesque. It’s so far removed from human decency or even sanity that it defies any sort of valid explanation. Sincerely, the only conclusion I can reach is that the lunatics are in charge of the asylum - that somehow we’ve ended up with a society led by monsters - by amoral, loathsome, foul wretches who are so clearly depraved that they likely shouldn’t even be allowed out in public unaccompanied, much less entrusted with power.
It’s insane. Literally, completely, staggeringly insane.
The word doesn’t mean anything in English. I assumed you were speaking Greek because otherwise you’d be babbling like a baby.
Oh, well, it is a slur against disabled people in some dialects of English, I suppose.
Pelosi:
Pelosi is looking down ballot. She knows the importance of keeping at least the house and sees how Bidens policies have fucked that up so badly. Gloves are off.
Netanyahu cares about his own political survival and nothing else. He told the families of hostages that he’s waiting for poll numbers to negotiate the hostages’ release, then never even made a good faith effort to negotiate, regardless of the poll numbers.
Netanyahu is committing genocide to game domestic politics and stay in power.
This was likely the first speech on Mideast policy that included a shout-out to the “fraternity brothers of the University of North Carolina.”
Still, while Trump has not exactly turned on Israel, he has clearly soured somewhat on Netanyahu, who he is still angry atfor congratulating Biden on his election victory in 2020.
These fucking people are children and they have power to do real shit and that is depressing.
It was mentioned tonight on the NBC nightly news. it was in this segment youtu.be/PErYVXSTtkg?t=350&si=vPYjMeflWbks8ARM
I see I am being down voted because people don’t like it. I didn’t like it either lol
I just watched the video and it didn’t say she denounced the protesters, it said she was one of the officials who strongly condemned the graffiti, flag burning, and raising the Palestinian flag. Specifically those actions. Not the protesters themselves or the fact that they were protesting at all.
If your statement was based on that segment alone, then I would say you mischaracterized the situation in a way that makes Harris come off worse.
Weasal words to associate the protestors with Hamas and antisemitism while ignoring the genocide they are protesting.
She skipped Netanyahu’s speech in protest and called for an end to the war afterwards.
“The images of dead children and desperate hungry people fleeing for safety, sometimes displaced for the second, third or fourth time. We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering and I will not be silent,” Harris said.
The reports [from Israeli media] appear to reflect worries among Netanyahu’s inner circle that the emergence of Harris as the presumptive Democrat presidential candidate might herald a tougher US line on the conduct of Israel’s war with Hamas.

I’m not in any way arguing that she’s doing everything right on this issue. I think she should go more strongly, although I can also acknowledge that someone at this level is walking a tightrope.
However, if anything, her choice to skip the speech in protest associates her with the protest going on outside, and so she went out of her way to separate herself from the actions at the protest that went too far.
You can argue over whether or not some protesters did go too far, or what else she could say and do that would actually help and be effective, I’m just asking for people to strive for accuracy when making claims. This is an important election, in which I genuinely believe that Harris winning the election will lead to a better outcome for Palestinians than any other outcome. I want to be vigilant about what she says but I also don’t want to look for some excuse to paint her with the same brush as everyone else and write her off.
Vice President Kamala Harris vowed to “not be silent” about suffering in Gaza amid the Israel-Hamas war, saying she expressed her “serious concern” to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Thursday while telling him it is time to lock down a ceasefire deal.
She also met privately with Netanyahu after his speech. She’s definitely more aware of the electoral consequences of supporting genocide than Biden. That’s an improvement. But to me its all hollow gestures for now.
None of the actions at the protest went too far. All this is just asking for “less genocide” instead of “no genocide” which I view as genocide apologia.
The sad truth is that there are overriding geopolitical strategic interests behind the US support of Israel. The American executive power recognizes this, so military support is not going to go away as long as those interests are a concern.
They may pay some lip service to the whole genocide thing, but this is ultimately realpolitik. Human lives do not matter when they are not American.
Their PACs are pumping a ton of money into this election. www.opensecrets.org/industries/indus?ind=Q05
They are certainly trying to oust anyone who spoke out against them in the Democratic party with pro Israel candidates, like Wesley Bell over Cori Bush in Missouri.
