Open Source or Shut Down MastoMetrics?

Every day multiple people sign up for @mastometrics, but hosting is burning a hole in my pocket and I don't have much time to maintain it.

I'm open to cleaning up my code and making it self hostable as well as accepting code contributions. However, I still need donations to fund the free / flagship server.

So here's my pledge and call to you:

Ensure MastoMetrics stays online and help me reach €1500 donations: https://ko-fi.com/robertvh

Boosts = ❤️

Ko-fi

The donations will be used to:
- Pay / recoup hosting fees
- indicate people want MastoMetrics to stay online.
- Free up time from my day job to:
- Open Source MastoMetrics so it is self hostable by anyone
- Migrate the server to a cheaper alternative

On the flip side, if people don't see the value to contribute / donate – I think I'll pull the plug.

@ me if you enjoy SolidJS/node and would like to contribute with code.

MastoMetrics

Maybe a bold ask: A sponsor for the Open Source version of MastoMetrics would go a very very long way.

Not sure if that's something @Flipboard @mike or @medium @coachtony @cloudplane or others would be open to.

@Flipboard @mike @medium @coachtony @cloudplane To give an idea of the scale/interest in MastoMetrics:
- 6k users signed up across 1600 instances
- Around 300 very active users
- Tracked 40 million interactions across 8 million statuses
@robertvh I think it's valuable for the ones that have a Masto instance! I've boosted!

@robertvh Hey Robert. I work with React, Vue, and the likes. My schedule is freeing up enough for the remainder of the year that I could lend a hand with development.

Let me know if you're interested!
