Started building a hydroponics tower - not a bad project for starting 3d printing, though I still struggle with the stringy aspect of PETG... PLA is much easier to print with.

@midnitte it’s a great project, I built one last year. It is worth sticking with PETG or ASA if it’s going to get a lot sun, I thought I could get away with PLA for some Kratky lids and they warped.

@Goul good to hear!

I do have one small question since it will get a lot of sun - what did %infill did you end up using?

@midnitte just 15% but from memory I think I increased wall thickness to 3.

@midnitte couple of other words of advice. Think how you will top us the reservoir- it’s not easy once the tower is loaded.
If the tower ends up a few units high and it’s outside, think about using the holes in sides to tie/secure the tower to the ground. (Like guy ropes for a tent). Once you have a few things growing, the wind will have an impact.

Enjoy growing, we’ve staggered growing seedlings through the summer and had constant fresh leaves for salads etc.

@Goul now that sounds exactly like what I want!

Will take note - hopefully should be protected by the wind for the most part!
