I was one of the tech folks leading the response at a hospital system to the bad McAfee update that blue screened systems and destroyed the Windows network stack back in 2010. We had to physically touch 12,000 machines, reboot into safe mode, replace a driver file, and replace the bad definition file.

My deepest sympathies to everyone responding to the Crowdstrike.

Seems George Kurtz was the CTO of McAffee when they produced said bad update, and is of course the CEO of Crowdstrike now. Strange to think the same guy has been at the root[kit] of two worldwide Windows boot loop/bad update meltdowns, but apparently it is so.
