So I got a call from someone doing outreach for the Ontario PC party this afternoon. I assume they were going to ask for money, but it didn't get that far.
The guy said it was good to actually hear a friendly voice. I explained that, as he was calling from the OPCs, it wasn't actually all that friendly.
He asked if he could do his pitch, and I said sure. I figured I could be polite, even if I likely wasn't going to be convinced...

The caller from the OPC started to tell me about how the federal carbon tax was making life more expensive for everyone, and that the PCs had a plan to fight the carbon tax.

Now, I don't know what I was expecting, probably something about how unions were bad and getting a vodka tonic from an Esso was great, but nope, it was like we hadn't already been through a Supreme Court challenge and stickers that couldn't stick years ago...

"I have to stop you there," I told the guy. "You know that's not true, right. It's not making things more expensive, it's paying me. If they take $100 and a couple months later I get $120 that's like an investment."

To which he replied, "Have a good day."

Which, to be fair, meant I wasn't wasting time anymore, but also meant I didn't get to talk about the cost of pointless legal challenges, private spas, agency nurses, giving the province to developers and Loblaws, etc...
