In regards to privacy policies and content moderation in the Fediverse, "stealing data" seems to be less of a threat, due to it being decentralized. I found a really great article explaining how privacy, censorship and content moderation differs from mainstream socials. Don't like/agree with a servers or "instances" policies, go look for another server, or, use your own. Also, very interesting to know that deleting content can be a bit trickier in the fediverse.
