The decentralized nature of the Fediverse influences privacy by giving the user full control over how their content is shared. We aren't the product in the fediverse. This means we show up and can choose what to consume by searches and engagement on our terms (after we agree to the terms of our server). We aren't being "sold" to advertisers and so the process of finding communities we're interested in, is driven by the Creator and not the algorithm. In turn, things seem a bit more authentic.
