I had a similar experience in my 40s; a major kidney infection due to congenital plumbing damage.
Although a last-minute cocktail of intravenous antibiotics stopped the fever at 41°C, I still had to have surgery.
Still, the hallucinations were interesting and, obviously, I survived.

@EricLawton i shouldn’t complain so much, in view of much worse experiences like yours that were actual medical emergencies 😱. i just hate how much force the big toe has to take every day and how long this stupid infection has been slow burning - it’s over six months 😞

@adub @EricLawton oh wow, my last dose of AB was a throat infect. , one which gave the ent a gasp like they are a mechanic looking at an broken engine xD
