I was going to write a piece entitled "This is not the time to call for unity" but Emily at Heated already wrote this:

- Democrats "apologizing" for GOP internal violence by calling for calm is imbecilic, and adopts the narrative that they're to blame for it
- Unilaterally "turning down the heat" - we know Republicans, the only ones who turned it up, won't - is capitulation
- Pro-violence Trump is America's Hitler (says his "VP") & Project 2025 is their manifesto

'Don’t turn the rhetoric down - If a person poses an existential threat to the planet, it’s OK to say that. In fact, it’s our responsibility to.' Excellent stuff from Heated https://heated.world/p/dont-turn-the-rhetoric-down?r=1cje4

The way I would put it is that there are times to be diplomatic and there are times to just let some1 have it.

I have dealt with a lot of narcissists in my life, and I have learned at some point you need to throw them down, ignore their distractions, and work around them if you need to while trying to get rid of them.

the GOP started the culture war bs but the liberals have taken it hook, line, sinker. We need more Katie Porter, less AOC.
