Update:
The NY Post has confirmed that the #shooter in the #trump attempted assassination is Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, PA.

Who, btw, is a registered REPUBLICAN!

Hutchinson quoted Trump as directing his staff in profane terms, to take away the magnetometers that he thought would slow down supporters who'd gathered in Washington
In videotaped testimony played before the committee, she recalled the former president saying words to the effect of "I don't f-in' care that they have weapons"

"They're not here to hurt me
Take the f-in'mags away
Let my people in.
They can march to the Capitol from here" Hutchinson testified

WATCH: Former White House aide says Trump knew Jan. 6 protesters had weapons

Cassidy Hutchinson, a key aide in Trump’s White House, told the House committee that Trump was informed that people rallying on the mall that morning had weapons but he told officials to “let my people in” and march to the Capitol.

@KraftTea This is almost as tragic as the Bowling Green Massacre.

@KraftTea

His being a registered Republican was just reported on MSNBC. Bizarrely, there’s also this: a contribution to a progressive group on Inauguration Day from someone with that name and a Bethel Park ZIP code. If he’s 20 now, he would have been at most 17 then? I guess he really did get more conservative as he got older.

@ampersine @KraftTea why not start a conspiracy theory, that he did it for trump wanted to get "shot" to look strong and "invincible", so that people wouldn't vote for the "weak" Biden.

@ampersine @KraftTea

You forget... It is possible to be both a Conservative and despise Trump. Logically, the young man was undoubtedly hoping to kill Trump before the Primaries, thinking that the GOP would have to nominate someone more palatable.

@ampersine Almost certainly the wrong Thomas Crooks. This one is a University of Pittsburgh alumni, who works nearby.

Of course, who *doesn't* know a teenager who worked hard all summer long, so they could afford a credit card to make their first political donation with?

@KraftTea Am I the only one thinking that this shooting was real convenient, real odd that they got in the security perimeter, and oddly SS wasn't available for the press conference, only the FBI was.
