Crowd sourcing information: What's the best ready-made Free Software engine for web-forums? (with some nice HTML formatting for posts, including good embedding image support).
Bonus points if there is an affordable managed service available, as this is not for me.

@mdione Yeah, I guess something like Discourse. I have no idea how easy it is to admin a Discourse instance.

The managed one is 50 USD per month, which might be peanuts for a company, but it's a lot for a personal instance. When I said affordable managed service, I was thinking more in the 5 to 10 USD per month price range.

Otherwise, I can host it myself as a favor to the person asking this of me, but I'd rather not.

@marga @RichiH for forums try https://discourse.org there’s a SaaS version and #opensource self hosted version. There’s even an activityPub plugin for it.
