Apparently Lattice is "making history" by adding digital workers as an onboardable entity withing their platform[1]. According to them half of their recruitment community were planning to hire digital workers.

"When we asked our Resources for Humans community of more than 22,000 HR leaders representing over 3 million employees about their plan for digital workers, over half told us they were **already** planning to hire them"

I have no what poll they ran or who responded to this but IMO this is a perfect expression of the current AI hype cycle.

We need to employ AI as responsibly as we employ people, and to empower everyone to thrive working together. — Jul 09, 2024 by Sarah Franklin

I work on AI powered stuff everyday and currently interact with these tools. People tend to forget that these are just tools not that different from apps and bots. Sure they have some more capabilities but losing sight of the fact that they are just apps is how you get poor decision making

You do not pay an AI bot a salary. You license software from a vendor.
Every article I've read on the subject tend to be speculative about the future of the workplace. The same outlets that speculated on the future of money and crypto yet where are we today.
I managed to find at least one company willing to put their put their name as buying into the concept [1] and when you dig beyond the article's hyped up language, they just refer to it as automation[2].

Even the company that (i assume) authored the article does very little to call their bots digital workers on their platform. They literally just offer a platform for automation.

What digital workers are and why the market is rapidly growing

Building digital workers requires testing rapidly, failing fast and being open to change. Why orgs must embrace bots and digital workers now.
