@verge Last two moves we used almost 50% plastic bins. When we were done they stacked up nicely in the basement and ready for our next move. The remaining cardboard boxes we donated to a neighbour who was moving rather than store then recycle years later.

Upside is the boss was moving and he was thinking about buying boxes and we let him borrow our bins and saved him a lot of money.

One other thing we did was use mailing labels with the room and content information on the top and side of the plastic bins. When we were done we peeled the labels off. No markers!
