A few days ago a #pointandclick adventure popped up in my timeline I never heard of. It was #blazingdragons for #ps1 . Unfortunately I could not find the post anymore. Anyway: The game seemed interesting. Was able to get my hands on a used copy. Condition of the game seems not too good. Hope it'll work.
@RockyBoulder I hope the disk works because then you're in for a real treat! Don't forget your trusty clicker! You never know when it'll come in handy.

@thelobdegg

Oh no! It's all black. Perhaps I should try to retrobright it? 😉

Has some scratches. Still unsure if it'll work.

@thelobdegg

Well I did two attempts to make an image file of it. One images does not even start. The other one is missing the voiceover but seems to work otherwise. Did not try to make an imagefile out of a physical CD for quite a long time. Probably I am doing something wrong. At least I hope so.

@RockyBoulder Oofta! The voice acting is fantastic too. Does anyone still have those disk refresher doodads that were everywhere in the mid 2000's?

@thelobdegg

Got it to play the voiceover now, too 🙂

Forgot that I needed to make a bin/cue out of it not just some iso.

May I ask you something complletly different?

Would "The Aching" really work on a real Tandy 1000?

@RockyBoulder That's the spec it was coded for! The system requirements are an 8086 with at least 384k of ram, EGA or Tandy Graphics, supports Tandy 3 voice sound and MT-32 for music, and even supports the Tandy SL DAC sound chip and Sound Blaster for PCM audio.

On Steam and Itch.io we ship it in a DOSBox Staging wrapper, but you can absolutely copy the contents of the floppy folder onto a disk and run it on real hardware!

@RockyBoulder almost forgot, it also supports the Disney Sound Source for PCM.

The current build in dev for the sequel will also add support for the OPL2 chip via a traditional Adlib ISA card or the modern LPT2OPL series of devices.
