@TIBopenpub @DOAJ that's not actually quite true: "Use of a plagiarism checking service is highly recommended but not required for inclusion in DOAJ." https://doaj.org/apply/guide/

Crossref's Similarity Check "Powered by iThenticate" is actually quite expensive for many communities. If DOAJ was to _require_ this, it would price-out a lot of otherwise great journals from ever being included in DOAJ.
