It's later than usual since I was on vacation all of last week, chasing a toddler around the beach with a mezcal margarita in hand (jkjk unless…), but the time is nigh - our monthly #stateOfShakedown update!

First order of business - I just updated the server to Mastodon 4.2.10. No new features, but there are some security updates and bugfixes. Details here if you are curious: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.2.10

- 4 new users (+0 MoM)
- 19,502 interactions (-1,250 MoM)
- 1.55 TB of user uploads (+1.1TB MoM)
- 47.2 GB stored in the Postgres database (+10.5 GB MoM)
- 2 TB of traffic served through Cloudflare (+1 MoM, 72% cached)

The large jump in user uploads is unusual... will check on that. Still need to automate the various Mastodon cleanup scripts to save some upload/disk space.

Costs for June 2024

- $60.30 to Hetzner for our 16 vcpu / 32 gb ram VM… (2/6)

In June we took in $129 from 30 monthly donors. Shakedown's operating costs are covered entirely by our community, which allows us to control our own destiny, without any advertisers, private equity or billionaires. It's a beautiful thing, and it's only possibly because of you - so a huge thank you to everyone that donates!

Since our income is greater than our costs this month, that also means we'll be donating $27 to the Mastodon project to help support their development. (4/6)
